A big part of the program is the inclusion of local high school or college lacrosse players to volunteer during the practice. The program tries to provide one on one support to help the players to catch, throw and celebrate playing lacrosse. By having the inclusion of the existing players there are lots of smiling, laughing and good relationship building between the adaptive players and volunteers.
This past fall the Carroll County Adaptive Lacrosse Program participated in an Adaptive Lacrosse Clinic at the US Lacrosse Headquarters in Sparks, MD. The players and volunteers got a free tour of the US Lacrosse Museum and the University of Maryland Men’s Lacrosse Team volunteered to participate in an Adaptive Lacrosse Clinic with the Delaware (Rehoboth) Adaptive Lacrosse, Davidsonville Adaptive Lacrosse, Parkville Adaptive Lacrosse and the Howard County Adaptive Lacrosse Program.
The program will continue in Spring 2019 and registration will be done through Carroll County Recreation and Parks. We need more players to participate, volunteers and equipment to help outfit the Adaptive Lacrosse Players.
