FALLBALL UPDATE - GAME DAY NOTES
September 6, 2017
All Schedules and Rosters Are Posted on the Website!!!
All Players & Coaches who were registered as of September 5th have been placed on teams.
To find your team, sign into the website, Select the Teams pull-down tab, then your gender & age group. Select each team one at a time, then click rosters. You will only be able to view the roster for your team.
Contact information for your coach is also listed on the roster.
All games will be played on Sunday Afternoons at Crestwood Middle School - 7100 Foxcroft Dr; Frederick, MD 21703. It is just a few miles south of the Frederick Keys Stadium on New Design Road by the Rte 270/70 interchange.
From the home page, Click on the "Field Locations" Tab. Click on a field name and a map will pop up. Click on "Field Layout" in the text box below to find the field map.
Please follow the traffic flow directions highlighted on the field map. There is plenty of parking here, the most paved lined spots we've ever had, but some of us will need to park on the east side of the school. Please also park smart if you park in the "bus parking" areas. Follow the lines as a guide, but note that busses are bigger than minivans, so park a little closer together to fit more of us in.
If we use parking attendants, please follow their directions.
What do I wear?
All players must pick up a USL FallBall reversible pinnie at the main tent when you arrive. Please arrive 45-60 min before your game this week so you have time to pick up a pinnie, find your field, find your team, get a good stretch in and warm up before your game!
U7 Scoopers will pick up tee shirts, then head back to Field 1!
We play by 2017 US Lacrosse Rules for the appropriate age group. The right game for the right age!!! Modifications have been made for the small field format we use at FallBall and to adjust for the experience level of the game in our region.
General Rules and a rules matrix sorted by gender and age group are posted on the website here: WMDUSLAX FallBall Rules
There are some great USL Youth Rules interpretation videos available here: USL Youth Rules Videos.
Please note USL age designations have changed. WMDUSLAX U15 = "Under 15" = USL 14U = "14 and Under" ; U13 = 12U; U11 = 10U ; U9 = 8U ; U7 = 6U
The Middle School Girls Division will use USL Girls Youth 14U Rules this year. (Modified Checking – Below the Shoulder).
We extended late registration, and you can still make team requests, but you may also be placed on the team with the fewest number of players if the team you were hoping for is full. We have a lot of great coaches and its okay to play with new friends.
Little People Notes: This includes all U9 Boys & U9 Girls & the U7 Scoopers.
Please review the new rules as these divisions will play a 5v5 format this year.
Your activities will be on Field 1 - The most convenient parking for U7's & U9s will be near the tennis courts - back and to the right of the school.
We will play in a wide range of temperatures over the Fall season. Please remember to stay hydrated and dress both players and spectators appropriately.
We play in a light rain, but we will cancel in case of standing water on the field to protect both the players and the fields.
Weather updates will be posted on the website and we do not reschedule games at FallBall.
Most of the questions we are receiving can be answered by clicking around the website. Please click around first!!
